Indian Head Massage is an ancient treatment where the upper back, shoulders, neck, ears, head and face are massaged, to create relaxation and all-over good health. It consists of mainly the upper part of the body being worked on; this massage covers all meridians and acupressure points. It can be a treatment for the whole body and mind.
Oils can be used if desired as this can bring additional benefits to the skin, scalp and hair. Indian Head massage is beneficial to treat symptoms such as headaches, migraines, stress, hair loss, sinusitis, stiff neck and shoulders. In India it is used as a daily treatment in some cases.
Acupressure is the application of pressure to the body to affect the flow of energy (Ki) in the 12 meridians. Acupressure is believed to be the ‘Mother of Acupuncture’ in that it predates the use of needles to stimulate the body’s energy flow. It has the same principles as Acupuncture, but the pressure is applied directly to the Acupoints of the body by using the hands, fingers, thumb or knuckles and sometimes by using a smooth, blunt object known as Gua-sha tools.
